Travel Timeline
1 ✈️ ️Day 1 : Departure
Pick-up at Kilimanjaro airport (JRO) en route to the lodge for a few hours' rest.
Check-in at VIJIJI CENTER Lodge, near Arusha.
Restaurant and swimming pool at your disposal.
2 🛶️Day 2 : LAKE NATRON
This morning you will take the road to Lake Natron. This alkaline salt lake is the only breeding ground for Lesser Flamingos in the whole of East Africa. Numerous bird species can be seen around the lake. Check-in at RIVER CAMP. Breathtaking views of the lake and Lengai, the Maasai's sacred volcano.
3 🌊 Day 3 : TARANGIRE
LAKE NATRON 2 You will spend the day discovering the fascinating environment surrounding Lake Natron. This day includes a hike to the Ngare Sero waterfalls and a visit to a Maasai village. The tribesmen will share with you some of their traditions: fire, natural resources and medicines, etc.
4 🌄 ️Day 4 :KOGATENDE
En route to the north of the Serengeti, where thousands of animals have gathered for the great migration. You will discover your new lodge at sunset. Installation at GNU CAMP Located high above the crater, the 10 tents of this lodge are comfortably equipped and ideally placed for exploring the conservation area surrounding the caldera.
5 🌵 Day 5 : THE GREAT MIGRATION
Every year, almost like clockwork, the animals gather on the banks of the Mara River, on the border between Tanzania and Kenya, to cross from the Serengeti to the Maasai Mara. It's a high-risk crossing, with crocodiles waiting in the water... With the animals that make up the famous “Big 5” ... Overnight at VIJIJI CENTER.
6 🦏 Day 6 : SERENGETI
Early departure for Serengeti. The long track will take you across its vast plains, home to the largest animals of the savannah, and you will enjoy the afternoon on safari. At sunset, enjoy a campfire dinner in the wild animals' territory. Check-in at the MAWE TENTED CAMP lodge.
7 🦓 Day 7 : NGORONGORO
On arriving at the site, you will climb above and along the crater ridges to discover unforgettable landscapes. You will descend into the caldera where lions, elephants, rhinos and buffalo find refuge. Check-in at NGORONGORO CRATER TENTED CAMP, tents on the crater's heights.
8 🦁 Day 8 : TARANGIRE PARK
En route to Tarangire National Park, reputed to be the preferred home of elephants. You will spend the day in a 4×4 vehicle before returning to your lodge for a campfire dinner. Check-in at BAOBAB TENTED CAMP in the heart of the park. With these tents, you'll enjoy a truly immersive experience.
8 🏝️ Day 9 : Zanzibar
Domestic flight (1h30) to Zanzibar booked by us, from Arusha. On arrival on the island, a driver will meet you for the transfer to your hotel (1h30), on the edge of the Indian Ocean. Check-in at the MWEZI hotel, surrounded by lush vegetation, on the long beach of Jambiani (south-east).
10 ☀️ Day 10-13 : FREE DAYS
Free days in Zanzibar to make the most of its enchanting beaches and surroundings. A wide range of optional activities are available (at your own expense): snorkelling, diving, a visit to the Jozani forest or the capital, Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
11 ✈️ Day 14 : Return to Canada
Return Room available until midday. Your driver will collect you from the hotel and take you to Zanzibar airport (ZNZ).
