Travel Timeline
1 ✈️ ️Day 1 : welcome to Namibie
After a transfer to the rental company's office, meet our French-speaking representative to hand over your travel pack. He will personally assist you in collecting your rental 4×4, equipped with all camping gear. He will go over your programme with you day by day, map in hand, giving you tips and advice on how to make the most of it. Depending on your arrival time, you may have a little time to wander around Independence Avenue, the main thoroughfare, or Post Street Mall, which is packed with shops and restaurants.
2 🏜️ Day 2 : At the gateway to the Namib Desert
After breakfast, get behind the wheel of your 4×4 and let your mind wander as you drive to the Namib dunes. One of the oldest and driest deserts in the world, it covers more than 15% of Namibia along the Atlantic coast. From Sesriem, 2 sites are accessible for an active late afternoon: a hike in the Sesriem Canyon or an escapade on the Elim Dune, from where you can admire a magnificent panorama of red dunes, grassy savannah and mountain massifs. Overnight in camp. Distance: 5 hours / 310 km Meals: Breakfast Stages : Namib-Naukluft Park, Sesriem Accommodation: Sesriem Oshana Camp (Sesriem).
3 🚙 Day 3 : Attacking the dunes
Joining Sossuvlei with your 4×4 means taking your first steps as a bush driver. Today, you'll be amazed by the ochre-coloured palettes and undulating shapes of Dunes 45, Dead Vlei Circus and Sossusvlei. We encourage you to climb to the top of these giant piles of sand, before enjoying a well-earned breakfast in the shade of the acacia trees at the foot of Sossusvlei. As an option, how about a hot-air balloon flight over the desert? Overnight in camp. Route: according to your itinerary (discovery day) Meals on your own Stages : Sossusvlei Dune 45, Deadvlei Accommodation: Sesriem Oshana Camp (Sesriem).
4 🌄 ️Day 4 : Desert and ocean
In the morning, take in the breathtaking scenery as far as the eye can see, across the gypsum plains and impressive gorges of the Central Namib. Before discovering the extremely arid expanses bordered by an often cold ocean, you'll cross the Tropic of Capricorn! Then there's a radical change of atmosphere as you arrive in Swakopmund, a small town sometimes shrouded in a mysterious fog. The coolness of the Benguela Current offers invigorating walks by the sea or in the dunes. Your guest house also offers massage treatments, particularly appreciated after several days on the Namibian trails. Route: 5h30 / 350 km Meals: Breakfast Stages : Swakopmund Accommodation: Overnight at Villa Margherita (Swakopmund).
5 🌵 Day 5 : Spitzkoppe Rock Art
After a morning at leisure in Swakopmund, with optional excursions such as a catamaran safari or dune surfing, you'll head off to survey and photograph the silhouettes of Mount Spitzkoppe, a majestic granite inselberg in the Damaraland region. The site, managed by the local community, is an ideal place for nature lovers. Experience an unforgettable bivouac under a starry sky, where contact with the bush is guaranteed. Journey time: 2 hours / 160 km Meals on your own Stages : Damaraland Spitzkoppe Accommodation: Overnight at Spitzkoppe Campsite (Damaraland).
6 🦏 Day 6 : Safari between plains and savannahs in Etosha Park
At the wheel of your vehicle, childhood dreams come true as you drive through the national park, enjoying the various waterholes along the way and attracting a wide range of species. Keep an eye out for leopards basking in the high branches of the trees. In the middle of the day, enjoy a siesta by the Halali swimming pool, before heading back out to track the animals. Open up all your senses and enjoy the animal scenes unfolding all around you. Overnight camping. Namutoni camp is located in the eastern part of Etosha Park, along the Fisher Pan. Half a day's drive to the Rundu region, on the banks of the Okavango in north-east Namibia, on the border with Angola. With a population of around 450,00, this small town is the capital of local crafts (basketry, wood carving, pottery) and always seems livelier than the capital! There are lush green lodges offering a relaxing setting on the banks of the river, where you can admire a wealth of birdlife, including fishing eagles and colourful bee-eaters. Distance: 5h30 / 450 km Meals: Breakfast and dinner Stops : Rundu Accommodation: Overnight at Taranga Safari Lodge (Rundu).
8 🛖 Day 8 : Traditional Kavango villages in the Popa falls region
You reach the Bagani region, near Popa falls and the Mahango game reserve, right in the heart of the Caprivi Strip, on the border with Botswana. Why not take a boat trip on the Okavango at the end of the day? Or would you prefer to discover the local culture and the rapids at Popa Falls? In the afternoon, you are free to visit the Mahango reserve with your 4×4. The park, which runs alongside the Okavango River, is home to a wide variety of birds (430 species) and offers the chance to see species other than those of Etosha, such as crocodiles and monkeys, as well as aquatic antelopes like sitatungas and pukus. Buffalo Park, on the other side of the Okavango, can also be visited independently by 4×4. Route: according to your itinerary (discovery day) Meals: Breakfast Stops : Mahango, Mahango Reserve Accommodation: Mahangu Safari Lodge (Mahangu).
10 ☀️ Day 10 : Desert and ocean

Caprivi is bordered by large rivers: the Okavango, Kwando, Chobe and Zambezi. The area is rich in colourful birdlife. The traditional villages of the indigenous fishermen are a fascinating point of interest compared with the rest of Namibia, which is so sparsely populated.
