Documents and procedures
No visa is required for Canadian nationals for a stay of less than 30 days. Only a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry is required.
Medical
Before leaving, be sure to consult your doctor or an international vaccination center in order to evaluate your health and receive health recommendations, especially regarding vaccinations.
Take with you any medication you may need for personal use and the medical prescriptions for it.
The importation of medicines is subject to a declaration or even a prior authorization. Thus, the persons who justify a medical treatment must make sure with the embassy of Thailand nearest to their residence that the carried drugs are authorized. In certain cases, the embassy of Thailand will recommend to justify a prescription written in English and to declare spontaneously the products at the time of the passage in customs. For others, the importation can be prohibited or limited. It is thus strongly advised, before engaging a voyage under medical treatment, to inquire with the embassy of Thailand nearest to its residence.
The update of the diphtheria-tetanus-poliomyelitis (DTP) vaccination is recommended for all and the rubella-mumps-measles (MMR) vaccination is recommended for children. Depending on local travel conditions, vaccinations against typhoid fever, viral hepatitis A and B, and rabies may be recommended. Vaccination against tuberculosis is also desirable.
