2🌄 Day 2 – Pergamon – Thyatira – Izmir

(Breakfast and dinner included)
After breakfast, depart for Pergamon (modern-day Bergama), one of the Seven Churches of Asia [Rev. 1:11; 2:12]. Visit its impressive acropolis, home to the steepest ancient theatre in the world, and the Asklepion, a renowned medical center in antiquity. Discover the Altar of Zeus, referred to as the “Throne of Satan” in Revelation, as well as the marble columns of the Temple of Trajan and the ancient library, once a rival to Alexandria’s with over 200,000 scrolls, leading to the invention of parchment. Visit the Red Basilica (St. John’s Church).
Continue to Thyatira (modern Akhisar), another of the Seven Churches [Rev. 1:11; 2:18-24; Acts 16:14], known for its purple dye production. Visit the remains of a basilica and Roman architectural fragments. Lydia, the seller of purple from Philippi, was originally from Thyatira.
Return to Izmir for a panoramic tour of Smyrna, Turkey’s third-largest city and one of the Seven Churches [Rev. 2:8-11]. Ascend Mount Pagus to visit the citadel built by Lysimachus, a general of Alexander the Great, in the 4th century BC.
You will also see the iconic Clock Tower.
Dinner and overnight in Izmir.

3🏛️ Day 3 – Izmir – Sardis – Philadelphia – Laodicea – Hierapolis

(Breakfast and dinner included)
After an early breakfast, drive to Sardis (modern Sart), the ancient capital of Lydia in the 6th century BC, mentioned in Revelation as the “dead church” [Rev. 1:11; 3:1-4]. Visit the Temple of Artemis, the Temple of Cybele (later a Byzantine church), the restored gymnasium, the reconstructed synagogue, a section of the Persian Royal Road built by Cyrus the Great, and the Pactolus River.
Continue to Philadelphia (modern Alasehir), the only one of the Seven Churches not to receive rebuke [Rev. 1:11; 3:7]. Explore the ruins of a Byzantine basilica, tall arches, and 11th-century frescoes.
Proceed to the thermal city of Hierapolis (modern Pamukkale), known as the “cotton castle” for its stunning mineral hot springs and white travertine terraces. Visit the martyrium of the Apostle Philip, executed under Domitian [Col. 4:13].
Continue to Laodicea (modern Denizli), another of the Seven Churches [Rev. 1:11; 3:14; Col. 2:1; 4:13–16]. Visit the ancient theatre, basilica, stone water pipes, Domitian Gate, Arcadian Way, Nymphaeum, Temple of Apollo, Plutonium, and necropolis.
Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale.

4🏺 Day 4 – Ephesus – Kusadasi

(Breakfast and dinner included)
Depart for Ephesus, one of the most famous ancient cities and where Apostle Paul lived and preached for three years.
Explore its spectacular ruins: the Basilica of St. John, Temple of Artemis, Roman terrace houses, Library of Celsus, Temple of Hadrian, the ancient theatre, and more. Ephesus was also home to the Temple of Diana, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
